Sumotori Fighter
Sumo is a competitive contact sport where a wrestler (rikishi) attempts to force another wrestler out of a circular ring (dohyō) or to touch the ground with anything other than the soles of the feet. The sport originated in Japan, the only country where it is practiced professionally. The Japanese consider sumo a gendai budō[citation needed](a modern Japanese martial art), though the sport has a history spanning many centuries.

Haitian Drum
This item was released on December 17, 2009. It was announced on the official Mafia Wars Blog with the following text.
Did you know that Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and the 7th poorest in the world? In light of this, Mafia Wars has teamed up with FATEM, a non-profit organization that works to provide economic advancements for the Haitian community of Mirebalais. To help FATEM and their cause, we’ll be releasing a special Limited Edition item for purchase - the Haitian Drum, available for a limited time starting Thursday, December 17th. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be contributed to building school kitchens and establishing meal programs for children who might not otherwise have a source of nourishment.
Zynga has already been working with the organization and has helped initiate a kitchen restoration project. In one school, children have started receiving snacks, and as soon as the kitchen is completed in a few weeks they’ll have access to warm meals. Please help Mafia Wars do the same with the remaining schools in that region. Let’s beat hunger in Haiti – beat the Haitian Drum!

The Triads (Chinese mafia)
Their activities include car theft, contract killing, drug trafficking, extortion, money laundering, gambling, prostitution, and other forms of racketeering. A major source of the triad's income today comes from the counterfeiting of copyrighted and trademarked goods such as clothing, coin counterfeiting, computer software, counterfeit money, handbags, music, CDs, watches and movie VCDs/DVDs.[citation needed] They also trade in endangered species as well as bootleg tobacco and alcohol products.
The Triad was reportedly the largest triad gang worldwide in the mid-1990s. It was formed after the Second World War and the Chinese Civil War, with the Kuomintang fleeing the Communist Chinese. In 1997 there were a number of gang related attacks that left 14 people dead. The triad under Wan Kuok-koi (nicknamed Lit. Broken Tooth Koi) was being challenged by the smaller Shui Fong ( Lit. Water Room, originated from a workers' union of the legacy Hong Kong ...
